Congratulations – you’re investing in property!
Of course you need a conveyancer to assist with purchases (and eventual sales) – but how do you choose one? What makes conveyancing for property investors different from other conveyancing?
The most important distinction is that as a property investor are conducting a business transaction. The emotional side isn’t there. That focus on the financial investment aligns well with the Contract Conveyancing focus on thoroughness.
When we do conveyancing for property investors, we always ask what other advice you have received. We recommend that you speak to a financial advisor and to your accountant.
You may have a property investment advisor who’s run the numbers for you, but even a property that makes great money may not be right for you, depending on your tax situation. It depends whether you are investing in an asset which might appreciate, or looking for rental return. We’re not experts in this area, but we will encourage you to get expert advice.
As a first-time investor, you not only want to make a sound investment, you’re also starting your portfolio. You may be planning to make multiple purchases. Understanding the process and the risks is important to you – it’s something you expect to deal with again. We are committed to spending time with you to educate you as much as you want and as much as we can.
Overtime, as you make more investment purchases, the process becomes smoother. Not only are you clear on the financial aspects of your purchase, but also you and we both know what to expect. We can streamline all steps to be as efficient as possible.
For some investors it’s valuable to invest more time upfront in scenario planning. We explore possible issues and your preferred response to them in advance, so that we can act in line with your wishes later – without having to come back to you and take up valuable time.
As with all clients, our goal is to communicate thoroughly and efficiently, in the way which suits you and your needs.
